Snip (AKA Scooter) is an adult male American Shorthair cat that enjoys chasing the other cats with his brother Trip. Trip (AKA Garfield)  is an adult male American Shorthair that was found stray with his brother and was never reclaimed. The Beaufort County Animal Shelter and Control will close its doors to the public at 4 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday effective Monday, August 1. Citizens who visit the shelter to turn in an animal or look for a lost pet may do so anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Those who wish to adopt an animal must do so between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The shelter is closed on Sunday. The facility is located at 23 Shelterchurch Road off US 21 north of the Marine Corps Air Station. For more information, call (843) 255-5010.
