Dr. Mick Zais visits Beaufort

LIES Kindergartners Asia Kongkiat and Ruthanna Heape shake hands with Dr. Zais and Rep. Erickson as they sing and dance to the tune of “Hello, Neighbor.”

State Superintendent Dr. Mick Zais visited Lady’s Island Elementary and Riverview Charter School on Friday.  Dr. Zais was accompanied by Rep. Shannon Erickson, State School Board member Dennis Thompson, Jr., Beaufort County School Board member Bill Evans, and Beaufort County School District Human Resources Director, Dr. Jackie Rosswurm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Zais visits Elizabeth Sanders’ 1st Grade class and discusses the Life Cycle of a Butterfly with the children. Caterpillar larvae arrived during his visit, and the children were quite excited.
Dr. Zais and Representative Shannon Erickson hold One World Futbols in Betsy Hollway’s 5th Grade class. This spring’s service learning project at Riverview will allow the school to purchase these indestructible futbols to raise awareness of global poverty and war.
