Wind storm Tuesday night takes down a Lady’s Island treasure

Tuesday night Beaufort lost a Lady’s Island treasure.  The strong winds that night took down the tremendous pecan tree in the parking lot at The Steamer on Sea Island Parkway.

The tree blocked much of the parking lot  on Wed as a crew worked to remove it.   Steamers was able to remain open despite this unfortunate loss.

St. Peter’s Catholic School on Lady’s Island has had “an extreme makeover,” according to its brand-new principal, Sister Judy.  She can’t wait to see her students’ faces  on August 15th, as they are greeted by a more inviting entrance, repainted walls, and lovely murals throughout the buildings.
